Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei shared his opinion about the current atmosphere at the UN, which is hosting a regular session of the UN General Assembly these days, as he talked to the press, BelTA has learned.

"The atmosphere, I must say, is certainly different from two years ago when the UN General Assembly session was held in-person. Today the corridors are empty, there are no queues in the cafes. Earlier you could see a lot of familiar faces and exchange views on various issues. Today, unfortunately, the situation is different. There are few people in the UN building. Nevertheless, life goes on,” the minister said.

“It is good that it we can have a number of meetings in-person today. Although, there is still a long way to go until the pandemic is over, of course. Everyone wears masks, takes necessary precautions,” Vladimir Makei added.
