Cooperation between Belarus, Russia in gas sector discussed in Moscow

Cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the gas sector was discussed at a meeting between State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Dmitry Mezentsev and Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom Alexey Miller in Moscow on 20 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Russian gas concern. 

"It was noted that cooperation takes into account the interests of the parties and is mutually beneficial. This helps to draw up the unified approaches to the development of the energy market of the Union State and to build up work in pursuance of the decisions by the Supreme State Council of the Union State and the main guidelines to the Union State Treaty for 2024-2026," the press service informed. 

Alexey Miller noted that the construction of the Gazprom Tsentr multifunctional center in Minsk is a confirmation of the high level of cooperation between Belarus and Russia in the gas sector. Dmitry Mezentsev briefed Alexey Miller about the areas of cooperation between Belarus and Russia within the framework of the Union State. At present, the Council of Ministers of the Union State supervises the cooperation in particular, such areas as culture, science, education, humanitarian matters and civil-patriotic education. 

"Alexey Miller spoke about the great work that Gazprom has done to preserve the historical and cultural heritage, so that the younger generations of Russia and Belarus know the heroic chronicle of their homeland and are proud of its glorious pages," the press service added.
