Lukashenko arrives in St. Petersburg to attend CIS and EAEU summits

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko arrived in Russia on a working visit. The Belarusian air force one landed in the Pulkovo international airport in St. Petersburg, BELTA learned.

On 25 December, the traditional informal CIS summit will be held in St. Petersburg, or rather, in its vicinity - in the Igora all-season resort. The leaders of the CIS countries are set to summarize the results of the year and discuss the prospects for the integration cooperation
On 26 December, Aleksandr Lukashenko will also take part in a session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. The meeting of the heads of state will be held in the narrow and enlarged formats.
“The agenda of the meeting includes about two dozen issues. Leaders of the EAEU countries will discuss strategic areas of the union, including the formation of common energy markets and further harmonization of legislation, prospects for cooperation with third countries and a number of working issues,” the president’s press service said.
During the meeting, the president is expected to announce the goals and priorities of the Belarusian chairmanship in the EAEU in 2025.
The Igora all-season resort is located an hour's drive from St. Petersburg on the Karelian Isthmus. It has the highest altitude difference and the longest piste in Leningrad Region.
Within walking distance from the resort is Igora Drive, Russia's most modern driving range. It operates 10 tracks for car racing and motorcycling.
