The head of state noted that Belarusian athletes have an important and responsible task ahead of them. “You need to perform to the top of your abilities and demonstrate to the whole world that Belarusians know how to win, how to compete beautifully, honestly and with good grace, respecting rivals and making the Motherland proud. I believe in our team and in each of you. Remember, the whole country is rooting for the Olympians and is waiting for sporting achievements in the name of Belarus. May success be on your side in the snowy stadiums and ice arenas of the Olympic Beijing and may your wildest dreams come true!” the president said.
