Lukashenko sends greetings to Mongolia president on 85th anniversary of victory at Khalkhin Gol

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to Mongolia President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh as the country celebrates the 85th anniversary of the victory at Khalkhin Gol, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Thanks to the courage and heroism of Mongolian soldiers and Soviet soldiers, among whom there were many Belarusians, it was possible to repel the offensive of the Kwantung Army and preserve the territorial integrity of Mongolia. The common feat of the Mongolian and Soviet peoples will forever remain in our hearts. We need to cherish the memory of the valor of those heroes who fought shoulder to shoulder against Japanese militarism for the sake of peace and confidence in the future for their descendants,” the message of greetings runs.
