Belarusian Minister of Defense met with the new Russian Ambassador to Belarus

Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, had a scheduled meeting with Boris Gryzlov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Belarus, The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus reported.

During the meeting the parties analyzed the current state of cooperation and discussed promising areas for further cooperation, taking into account national interests and priorities.

The head of the Belarusian military department pointed out that cooperation in the military sphere between Belarus and Russia is of a strategic nature, is an integral part of the whole range of bilateral and multilateral relations, and also plays an important role in the system of military security of the Republic of Belarus. 

At the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness for further cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
