Russia’s Bryansk Oblast has plans to double the production of Gomselmash combine harvesters, Bryansk Oblast Governor Alexander Bogomaz told reporters following his meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA has learned.

According to the governor, in 2023 Bryanskselmash produced almost 1,000 Gomselmash combine harvesters. The next goal is to double the output.

“We have launched a new, very good combine harvester. It has an increased capacity, which allows threshing more than two tonnes of grain per day. We will provide another production site, and the output of combines on Bryansk land will almost double. They can be sold all over Russia and in the CIS countries,” noted Alexander Bogomaz.

A reminder, at the meeting with the Bryansk Oblast governor, Aleksandr Lukashenko said that large industrial projects are the main driver of bilateral cooperation. Collaborations of Belarusian industry flagships Amkodor and Gomselmash with Bryansk Oblast are a paragon of such interaction, the president said. These two companies opened operations in this Russian region.
“We are ready to build on this experience and set up other enterprises in Bryansk Oblast, including companies that will produce  machinery, materials, equipment - everything that you want and we can,” the head of state noted.

Bryansk Oblast has one of the highest yields of many agricultural crops, including grains, in Russia. For example, in 2023 it had a record wheat harvest. According to the governor, this became possible, among other things, thanks to Belarusian agricultural machinery, fertilizers and seeds. All wheat varieties used in Bryansk Oblast were developed in Belarus. And the consumption of Belarusian mineral fertilizers by the Russian region increased from 11,000 tonnes in 2022 to 38,000 tonnes in 2023.
