Belarus and Pskov Oblast need to boost industrial cooperation, Belarus' Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said as he met with Pskov Oblast Governor Mikhail Vedernikov, BelTA has learned.

Cooperation in the manufacturing sector should be the focus of bilateral cooperation. “A lot of industrial products are supplied from Belarus to Pskov Oblast. The Russian region ships units, assemblies, spare parts to Belarusian machine-building enterprises that in turn send equipment to Pskov Oblast. In other words, there is an exchange of material resources. We are satisfied with our cooperation in mechanical engineering. But I am sure that cooperation opportunities in this area have not been exhausted yet. Therefore, we need to focus on industrial cooperation. We have the same tasks - import substitution, localization, technological independence. Enterprises must build closer contacts with each other and think what kind of products will be in demand in 3, 5, 10 years and agree on collaboration to produce this or that product,” the Belarusian head of government noted.

“I will be glad to visit the Titan-Polymer enterprise tomorrow and I hope that a decision will be made one of these days on long-term deliveries of Belarusian products to this modern and advanced plant,” Roman Golovchenko added.

He also emphasized that MAZ has good cooperation dynamics with Pskov Oblast. “Thank you for the trust you have shown by choosing Belarusian passenger vehicles to renew the region's public transport fleet. I am sure that the city residents will really like the extra-large-capacity buses and they will perform well,” the prime minister emphasized.

The Belarusian prime minister is currently on a working visit to Pskov Oblast. After that, he will go to the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russian Federation.
