Parliament to work out law on Belarusian People's Congress within one year after referendum

Parliamentarians are ready to work out the law on the Belarusian People's Congress within one year after the referendum provided Belarusians vote in favor of the Constitution draft, BelTA learned from Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko.

In his words, if amendments and addenda to the Constitution are approved, the parliament intends to work out the law on the Belarusian People's Congress within one year. “Then over the course of two years we will have to bring all our legislation into compliance with the Constitution. We will have to rework about 20 codes and some 60 laws,” Vladimir Andreichenko explained.
On 2 February Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko met with personnel of the Glubokoye District Central Hospital where a new computer tomography room was opened. The MP talked to medics about the upcoming referendum and outlined the main novelties and provisions of the draft Constitution.
Vladimir Andreichenko said: “Meetings with worker collectives indicate that it is a very important form of communication with citizens. People are united in the opinion that we should preserve the Belarusian statehood model, which caters to the human being. As far as healthcare is concerned, it focuses on health promotion. Our generation and future ones have to preserve independence and territorial integrity of the country. Opinions were voiced that the future of our country depends on every one of us.”
Another stage of the work to set up an interdistrict multipurpose healthcare center has been finished in the Glubokoye District Central Hospital. “A lot of work had preceded that. Three new departments have been set up lately: an infection department that will cater to a number of districts in the western part of Vitebsk Oblast, a dentistry center, and a mammology room. Today we've opened a computer tomography room. It will advance healthcare services to new heights. All of it corresponds to the points made by the president during his address to the nation and the parliament. The president is in favor of starting mass periodic health examinations of people. Including giving people one day off for it,” the head of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament added.
