Kochanova: Victory Day acquires special significance in the Year of Historical Memory

In the Year of Historical Memory, Victory Day acquires special significance, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova said at a meeting of the eighth session of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the seventh convocation in Minsk on 4 May, BelTA has learned.

"I sincerely congratulate everyone on the upcoming holiday of May 9. This is truly a great, national holiday. In the Year of Historical Memory, it acquires special significance. The further we move away from this day, the more vivid it becomes for us, and the more strongly our hearts respond to the terrible tragedy that occurred on our land. The president rightly said that Belarus is a monument to that great war. Combat operations were all over our country. Therefore, the memory of these people will forever remain in our hearts," Natalya Kochanova said.

“I would like to wish our country, our people peace because we understand how important those achievements and the memory of those people who defended the freedom and independence of our country are today, how precious peace is," the speaker of the Council of the Republic said.
