Belarus-Russia integration has made significant progress in recent years, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Dmitry Mezentsev told the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“The two presidents outlined the next stage of integration work for the Union State government and for the governments of Belarus and Russia. This stage will span three years, including 2026. Eleven new areas of work were included in the union’s fundamental document that was adopted by the Supreme State Council. Culture, tourism, education, sports, humanitarian cooperation - this is also very important. And this is what, perhaps, distinguishes the integration work of Belarus and Russia,” Dmitry Mezentsev noted.

“All in all, we have made great strides in recent years, especially since November 2021. And it was not just our response to sanctions, we have our own plans,” Dmitry Mezentsev added.
