On July 28, a monument "Living Memory of Grateful Generations" was opened in Brest in a solemn atmosphere. State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev expressed his conviction that the good work started by the Alexei Talai Foundation will be successfully continued and will serve to strengthen the brotherhood of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Belarus and Russia.

A distinctive feature of national monuments is the inclusion of Soviet coins in the alloy, which were brought by schoolchildren, students, veterans, their children and grandchildren. This symbolic participation of more than 500,000 families of Belarusians, Russians and compatriots abroad of Novik will unite the future generation with contemporaries and their heroic ancestors.

Alexey Talai expressed confidence that Belarusians are helped to cope with difficulties by the precepts of veterans. "I am proud and glad that so many people are involved in the creation of this national monument, as many children and young people brought their coins to the monument "Living Memory of Grateful Generations", – he drew attention and added that the family of the head of state also contributed to the creation of the monument.
