Belvodkhoz eyes Smolensk market

The Belarusian state association for land reclamation, water and fishing industry Belvodkhoz plans to launch supplies to the companies of Russia's Smolensk. The decision was reached during an online presentation and business talks between the companies, BelTA learned from the Minsk office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).

Directors of the enterprises of Luban Fish Factory and Polesie Fish Farm under Belvodkhoz spoke about the areas of their activities and proposed options for cooperation with enterprises of Smolensk Oblast. After the presentation, the Belvodkhoz representatives discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and agreed on trial deliveries of samples of canned fish products for the chain stores Lavash, the wholesale base Port, the chain stores Mikey and Fortuna BVS with the prospect of further contracting.

The event was held by the Minsk office of the BelCCI together with the Smolensk Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Deputy Director General for External Economic Relations of the Minsk office of the BelCCI Tatyana Dubova and Vice-President of Smolensk Chamber of Commerce and Industry Alexander Kondrusik emphasized the importance and timeliness of online negotiations.

Head of the office of the Belarusian Embassy in Smolensk, Counselor Sergei Misuragin, who took part in the presentation and talks, stressed the need for such bilateral activities to increase the mutual trade between Belarus and Russia.
