The Moscow Museum of Time and Clocks has opened an exhibition telling about the history of Belarusian watchmaking. It is timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the Minsk Watch Factory, BelTA reports.

This is the first time such an exhibition is being held in the Russian capital. The exhibition opens with original documents and drawings related to the construction of the Minsk Watch Factory, as well as mechanisms and watch parts. Special attention is drawn to the first watches produced at the Minsk factory, such as models under the brands "Zarya" and "Minsk", chronometers with the symbols of the Olympic Games-80, as well as "Ray" with a gold bracelet. Among other things, visitors are interested in the "Ray in Space" section: residents of Moscow have the opportunity to see the watch worn by the first Belarusian woman cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya during her stay on the ISS, as well as unique photographs presented by Yuri Gagarin's mother to the factory workers.

A separate part of the exhibition is represented by the modern collections of the plant, including the limited series "Mova", "Paints of the World", "Painted patterns" - something that is usually sold out by true connoisseurs. The record holder in this regard is a series released for the anniversary of the plant: all watches of the Luch 70 collection were sold out just nine minutes after the start of sales.

Olga Antishina, head of the marketing department of the Minsk Watch Factory, notes that watchmaking is the whole history of this factory.

"We have been delighting our customers and partners with our beautiful watches for 70 years. The history of the plant is long and complicated, we had ups and downs. Our history begins in 1953, and today we presented the first watches of the Minsk Watch Factory."

Olga Antishina also stressed that the exhibition tells about the famous clockwork mechanisms 2209 and 1801 of the Minsk Watch Factory. According to her, these mechanisms are still popular.

"In addition, we have brought modern collections where you can look at our design solutions that we are currently using. And, of course, we talk about our new directions, which are at the Minsk Watch Factory, about our image projects. Last year we had an important event - the opening of the Museum of Watchmaking in Belarus, where we tell the story not only of our factory, but also the history of the entire Belarusian watchmaking industry. Today we brought some of our exhibits to the Museum of Time and Clocks in Moscow to share with the Russians a piece of the history of the company, to tell them that we are afloat and continue to delight customers with modern collections," said the head of the marketing department of the Minsk Watch Factory.

Alexander Shpakovsky, Counselor-Envoy of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia, who took part in the presentation, called the Minsk Watch Factory the pride of the country.

"His products are known not only in Belarus, but also abroad. We are sincerely proud that this company continues to work, to produce products that are a sign of quality," the diplomat shared. "Remember that time has chosen us, there are many positive, good moments ahead, despite the difficult situation that is developing around our countries," Alexander Shpakovsky added.
