The most important task is to set up a center for the sale of entire range of Belarusian machinery in Russia’s Kaluga Oblast, Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik said at the meeting of the Belarusian delegation with Kaluga Oblast Governor Vladislav Shapsha on 2 September, BelTA has learned.

Speaking about cooperation in mechanical engineering, the ambassador mentioned the ongoing work to open the Amkodor sales and maintenance center in Kaluga Oblast. “We need to move forward and set up a center to sell the entire range of Belarusian machinery, including tractors and harvesters,” he stressed.

According to Vladislav Shapsha, specialists of Kaluga agricultural industry know well and highly appreciate the Belarusian machinery. “Only in the past year and a half, farmers have purchased more than 80 Belarusian farming vehicles,” he said. “We are interested in modernization and maintenance of the agricultural machinery fleet. Great prospects are associated with the construction of the Amkodor production and maintenance center. We will provide all-round support in the implementation of this project”.

In H1 2024, the trade between Belarus and Kaluga Oblast exceeded $170 million. The parties discussed opportunities to increase mutual trade, develop joint projects in industry, agriculture, and humanitarian sector. The focus was made on interaction in the construction sector: Belarusian specialists have already built about 20 facilities in the region. By the start of the new school year they commissioned an ultramodern school for more than 1,000 students in Kaluga.

The parties signed an action plan for the implementation of the agreement between the governments of Belarus and Kaluga Oblast on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation for 2024-2026, as well as an agreement on cooperation in the implementation of the investment project for the construction of a trade and maintenance center in Kaluga Oblast.
