Lukashenko to meet with China's Premier Li Qiang

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is set to meet with Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang on 22 August. The Chinese politician is paying an official visit to Belarus, BelTA has learned.

Minsk will also host talks between the Chinese high-ranking guest and Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko. The parties are expected to sign a number of international legal documents to enshrine the plans for the prospective partnership between Belarus and China in key areas of cooperation, including economy and trade, industrial and technological cooperation, science and education, medicine, digital and “green” development, and regional cooperation.
 

In 2023, bilateral trade reached $8.5 billion (134.1% to the level of 2022), with the export of goods and services reaching $2.4 billion (130.6%). Trade in services for the same period exceeded $800 million, showing an increase of more than 50% to 2022.
