Greetings on Russia and Belarus Unity Day

Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the Day of Unity between the Peoples of Russia and Belarus.

“For over two decades since the signing of the Treaty on Establishing the Union State of Russia and Belarus, our countries have managed to develop mutually beneficial integration mechanisms, significantly strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade, the economy, scientific, technical, cultural and other fields. We have been implementing mutually beneficial joint projects, as well as coordinating our foreign and defence policies,” Russia’s President notes in his message.

Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that the accumulated experience of joint work will help the two countries find optimal approaches to all, even the most complicated issues that are hindring the development of the Union State.

Also Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Belarus-Russia Union State, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Russia's President Vladimir Putin on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia.

“Integration within the framework of the Union State made Belarus-Russia cooperation more meaningful, created a good foundation to promote efficient economic and social development of our countries,” the message reads.

The head of state noted that today Belarus and Russia are on the verge of a new integration stage. “Development of mutually acceptable solutions in the spirit of real unity is a serious groundwork for the decent future of the peoples of Belarus and Russia,” he emphasized.

The President expressed confidence that the two countries will be able to maintain momentum in bilateral cooperation and integration.

Aleksandr Lukashenko sent the Unity Day congratulations to Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Union State, Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State, Speaker of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota and Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill.
