Russia's Pskov hosts Union State School Spartakiad Olympic Hopes

Russia's Pskov is hosting the first stage of the Union State School Spartakiad Olympic Hopes. The Belarusian delegation comprises 134 people from all the regions, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry.

The competitions in hockey, volleyball and chess feature more than 230 boys and girls from Belarus and Russia.

The next stage will take place in Belarus' Grodno on 19-24 September. A total of 1,678 students will compete in mini-football, 3x3 basketball and table tennis. The competitions will take place on the sporting grounds of the Grodno Oblast Olympic Reserve Center. An extensive cultural and entertainment program has been also prepared for the participants of the sport meeting.

In early October, Russia's Volgograd will host the student competition “We Choose Sport!”. In mid-November Brest will bring together young athletes who are trained in vocational educational organizations and institutions of vocational and secondary special education.

All in all, more than 800 school and university students of Belarus and Russia are expected to take part in the events of the Union State Spartakiad in 2022.
