The traditional Christmas biathlon race will take place on 28 December. Dzinara Alimbekava and Anton Smolski will represent Belarus at the event, BelTA learned from the press service of the NOC of Belarus.

Evgeniya Pavlova and Matvey Eliseev will perform in mass start and pursuit as part of the Russian team. The German team may include Denise Herrmann and Benedikt Doll, the Ukrainian team - Vita Semerenko and Dmytro Pidruchnyi.

Belarusian biathletes took part in mixed races with the participation of international duos in the previous years. In 2002, Olga Nazarova and Alexei Aidarov finished 8th in the Christmas race. In 2004, Olena Zubrilova and Vladimir Drachev were fourth. The international duo of Daria Domracheva and Dominik Landertinger took the same position in 2009. Two years ago Daria Domracheva and Ole Einar Bjoerndalen ranked third after two races.

Since 2002, the Christmas race was held at Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen. This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the organizers decided to move the event to Ruhpolding, where it was held until 2001.
