A Step Towards the Olympus.“The Belarusian Olympic Academy together with the NOC of Belarus have been running an intellectual tournament for students of specialized secondary education institutions called BrainBattle for a number of years already. Due to a great interest in the event, the decision was taken to organize a similar quiz as part of the Vytoki. The district stage of the tournament saw more than 6,000 participants. As part of the oblast stage, about 20 teams competed in each region. Only 35 school students reached the final. The geography is wide, and teams represented not only regional centers. School students from Telmy 1 village, Brest District, won the video business card contest,” Natalya Aponchuk said. “We tried to make questions more difficult in the final, but judging by the number of correct answers, we can say that the students were well-prepared. Thanks to our tournament young people become interested in the sports history of the country, and the competitive element encourages them to study the information further. Teachers and ordinary sports fans also got interested in this format. Perhaps next year we will form teams from everyone who would show interest in the event.
