Belarus 2nd in mixed relay at Russian Biathlon Cup

Belarusian athletes are competing in the Russian Biathlon Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, BelTA has learned.

The competition program featured 20 teams from different Russian regions and two Belarusian teams in the mixed relay event on Saturday. Hanna Sola covered her distance in the leading position. Iryna Leshchanka, skiing in the second leg, tagged in third. Mikita Labastau halved the Belarusian team's lagging time but tagged in fifth. Clean-shooting Pavel Belko finished second. The event was won by athletes from Sverdlovsk Oblast. The second Belarusian team of Alina Zaitseva, Darya Kudayeva, Maksim Varabei and Dzmitry Lazouski finished 14th.

Belarus was represented by two duets in the single mixed relay a day earlier. Elena Kulak and Pavel Belko crossed the finish line in sixth, Adelina Sabitava and Ilya Auseyenka – 21st out of 30 duets.
