Trains from Belarus to Moscow, St Petersburg to be suspended on 23 March

Trains from Belarus to Moscow and Saint Petersburg will be suspended on 23 March, BelTA has learned fro the press service of Belarusian Railways.

“In connection with Order No. 635-r issued by the Russian government on 16 March 2020 and also a notification from Russian Railways, in the wake of a drop in the passenger traffic, some international passenger trains to Moscow and Saint Petersburg will be canceled on 23 March,” Belarusian Railways noted.

Canceled trains include Brest-Moscow train No.4/3, Grodno/Minsk-Moscow train No.26/25, Brest-Moscow train No.28/27, Polotsk-Moscow train No.40/39, Gomel/Mogilev-Moscow train No. 56/55, Gomel-St. Petersburg train No.84/83, Brest-Moscow train No.96/95 and Grodno/Minsk-Saint Petersburg train No.250/249.

Minsk-Moscow train No.2/1 and Brest-Saint Petersburg train No.52/51 will be still running.

Belarusian Railways draws attention to the fact that the entry of foreign nationals and stateless persons, including those arriving from Belarus and also Belarusian citizens, into the Russian Federation is temporarily restricted on 18 March-1 May, according to the Russian government's Order No. 635-r. One can return to Belarus from Russia by international trains without restrictions.

Passengers can return unused tickets for canceled trains and carriages at ticket offices without paying additional fees.

E-tickets can be returned via the internet resource where it was purchased. There is no deadline for returning the tickets.

Passengers are requested to treat the situation with understanding and carefully monitor changes in the train schedule. Further decisions on when these trains are back in service will be communicated in due course.
