Cleanup campaign against radical individuals continues in Belarus

A set of measures meant to neutralize radical individuals continues in Belarus, BelTA learned from Konstantin Bychek, Deputy Chief of the Investigation Office of the State Security Committee (KGB), on 16 July.

According to the source, the KGB works with the Investigative Committee and other law enforcement agencies to continue a cleanup campaign against radical individuals. Houses of the most active subscribers of destructive Telegram channels, who were suspected to have been involved in extremist activities, have been searched. Traumatic weapons, ammunition, narcotic substances, Nazi symbols and items have been seized.

Evidence that proves that some of the individuals were involved in punishable offences has been obtained. Such offenses include the organization of group actions that rudely disrupt public order, participation in such actions, and the stirring of social enmity or discord, the official noted.
