MFA: Tragedy in Iran took away true friends of Belarus

Belarus has been deeply saddened to learn the latest news from Iran, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“We received the latest news from Iran with great pain. This is an irreparable loss not only for Iranian society. True friends of Belarus have passed away. Sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims, resilience and courage to all people of Iran,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Earlier, Iranian Vice President Mohsen Mansouri confirmed the death of President Ebrahim Raisi and his delegation in a helicopter crash. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian was among the dead.

The Iranian government held an emergency meeting after the accident.
