Belarus’ CEC observers monitor president election in Russia

The Belarusian Central Election Commission is taking part in the observation of the president election in the Russian Federation, BelTA learned from the CEC of Belarus.

Chairman of the Belarusian Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko and member of the Central Election Commission Yelena Kuntsevich are observing the voting process in the city of Moscow and Moscow Oblast. CEC member Aleksandr Losyakin is observing the voting in Pskov Oblast. 

During visits to polling stations, the Belarusian observers talks to members of precinct election commissions and observers. National observers eagerly communicate with international observers, talk about the voting process and voter turnout. According to them, no violations were found in the first days of voting. 

The CEC of Belarus noted that all polling stations are styled in the same way, have the campaign materials and information about the candidates for the Russian presidency. Conditions have been created for remote electronic voting. Police officers and the Ministry of Emergency Situations are on duty at all polling stations. 

The eighth president election, according to the decision of the Central Election Commission, is running in the country or three days from 15 to 17 March. On the territory of Belarus, the voting in the Russian president election will be held within one day, on 17 March. Adult citizens of the Russian Federation permanently residing or temporarily staying in the Republic of Belarus can take part in the voting. Polling stations will be opened in Minsk, Brest, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno and Mogilev.
