A meeting of the Belarusian part of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) took place in Minsk yesterday, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus reports.

During the meeting, the possibilities of increasing exports of cargo, passenger, agricultural machinery, light industry products, as well as expanding the range of supplies of meat and dairy products were discussed. A separate item on the agenda was the organization of container transportation with combined cargoes from Belarus to Yakutia.

"Due to the remoteness of the region, it is the transport costs that significantly affect the cost of the supplied products. It is important to optimize logistics in order to minimize the associated costs and increase the competitiveness of our products. This will contribute to the intensification of mutual trade," said Deputy Minister of Economy of Belarus Alesya Abramenko.
