Geely Electric Car Presented in Minsk

An electric car manufactured by Geely have been presented in Minsk. All in all four samples named Geometry A were brought to Belarus, said Director General of BELGI Gennady Svidersky, reports the correspondent of the Union State portal.

Gennady Svidersky said that BELJI plant takes no credit for the new model. It is planned that one of the electric vehicles will be tested at the plant, whereas three more will soon arrive at dealership centres.
“We have a request to test this electric vehicle technically and commercially in order to decide on further stages of this business line at our factory. Now we need to perform tests: whether such a car suits us, whether it is competitive, whether locals are ready to buy it. It’s too early to talk about the cost of this car in Belarus,” commented the Director General.
According to him, it will be worth organizing a relevant production line if there is mass demand of about 5-10 thousand cars per year. It is also important to examine export markets. Now BELGI supplies cars to the markets of Belarus and Russia. We are also conducting talks with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries. It is likely that new electric cars will be in demand on the European market.
Gennady Svidersky added that the car consumes an average of 13.5 kW/h per 100 km. Using fast-charging mode, you can recharge the battery from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes. In addition, Geometry A is equipped with a Super E Energy Station that can power laptops, ovens, lamps, and other equipment using an external plug. The maximum power is 120 kW, the maximum drive torque is 250 N·m, which allows Geometry A to reach the speed of 100 km/h in 8.8 s.
Among other characteristics are: projection onto the windshield, intelligent adaptive cruise control, assistance in lane following and changing, automatic parking, blind spot detection, front and rear moving object detection system, voice assistant control, smart seats belt pretension, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, intelligent high beam control system, collision warning system, glove box with a locking password, the maximum speed is regulated by the owner (in case the car is handed over to friends or relatives).
