Stadler Minsk finishes delivering trains to Minsk metro

ZAO Stadler Minsk has finished delivering trains to the state enterprise Minsk Metro, BelTA has learned.

The last, 10th five-car train intended for the Minsk metro left the territory of ZAO Stadler Minsk in late May 2020. After successful acceptance trials the train was put to use on existing metro lines alongside the previously delivered trains.
A new four-car metro train from Stadler carried its first passengers in early February. At present all the ten new trains are in use, representatives of the state enterprise Minsk Metro told BelTA. A five-car train started going through acceptance trials in April just like the four-car train did. Papers to certify the new rolling stock meets safety standards have been signed as a result.
Stadler Minsk representatives stressed that passengers and engine drivers had repeatedly remarked upon the modern design and advantages of the new metro trains: a bright, memorable design, the ability to walk through the entire train, the availability of USB sockets, an air conditioning system in the passenger compartment and the driver's cab, vertical stanchions in the standing-room only area, and a low level of noise. The trains match all the necessary safety, comfort, driving, and maintenance requirements.
All of that allowed the model M110 metro train to win the nomination Industrial Goods of the Best Products of Belarus 2019 contest. The train received the status Novelty of the Year.
BelTA reported earlier that in January 2017 the state enterprise Minsk Metro and ZAO Stadler Minsk signed a contract for the delivery of ten trains (six four-car ones and four five-car ones). Cooperation will continue in the sphere of aftersales service and warranty service now.
The private joint-stock company (ZAO) Stadler Minsk was officially inaugurated on 20 November 2014. The enterprise is part of the Swiss company Stadler Rail Group, which has been one of the leading European producers of railway rolling stock for over 75 years. Stadler Rail Group also has branches in Austria, Australia, Algeria, the UK, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Hungary, Poland, Czechia, Italy, and the USA.
