Permits for production of 503m face masks issued in Belarus

The Belarusian Healthcare Ministry has issued permits for the production of 503 million face masks, Deputy Healthcare Minister Boris Androsyuk told the media on 10 April.

According to the deputy minister, the Healthcare Ministry is doing its best to promptly issue permits for the production of medical products. “The ministry has already issued permits for the production of 503 million face masks,” he said.

Belarusian medics have received at least 500,000 face masks today, Boris Androsyuk said. As for respirators, some 50,000 of them will be delivered to Belarus on 10 April. Some 57,000 more will be supplied in the near future. “We expect to receive 750,000 respirators next week, which will meet our needs,” the deputy minister said.

The current national stockpile includes 2.5 million face masks, 176,000 respirators, 110,000 items of protective wear, 19 million pairs of gloves and 44,000 pairs of protective glasses.
